The Goals:

First phase of the project was to re write the application for native android and apply new design.

One of the requirements was that the app has offline work mode, and it needed local device database.

Second phase of the project was to implement external hardware such as barcode reader, printer, and weight scale.

Example of one of the new features desired was implementing screen signature capture.

First challenge was to take legacy code and distinguish all the necessary functionalities that were needed for the app to work with existing backend, while improving the architecture for the newly requested features.

Design requirements were provided and were able to create UI that met all client needs and is easy to use.

Another challenge was to implement all the specified hardware devices. And after the successful implementation couriers now can scan barcode on their id to log in.

They are able to print address stickers, and with scanning one sees all the information about the package.

And at last, when receiving a package to deliver, courier can weight the package, and with all the necessary data in local database, has an instant cost of package delivery.
